The Henry County Board of Supervisors on Nov. 25 approved two rezoning requests that will allow manufactured housing on the properties described.
Planning Director Lee Clark presented R‑25‑17, a request by Ronald Keith Oliver to rezone about 0.6 acres at 294 Hills Fishpond Road in the Blackberry District from suburban residential to mixed residential to permit a double‑wide manufactured home. After opening and promptly closing the public hearing with no speakers, the board voted 6‑0 to approve the request following the planning commission and staff recommendation.
The board also approved R‑25‑18, a rezoning for just over six acres at 2125 Sunset Drive (applicant listed as Ralph East Sidely Jr./"Mike") from suburban residential to rural residential to place a manufactured home; planning staff and commission recommended approval, no members of the public spoke and the board approved the rezoning 6‑0.
Context: Planning staff and the planning commission had recommended approval of both requests; no members of the public registered to speak during either public hearing. The board member representing the district in one case stated support and moved the motion to approve.
What’s next: County planning staff will update records and proceed with permitting under the new zoning classifications.
