Rob Mann, Appalachian Power’s external affairs representative, said the company values its long relationship with Henry County and thanked local partners for their work. A Lawrenceville Walmart store manager, Bonnie, said Walmart had provided grant support and staff assistance and emphasized the company’s aim to help neighbors prepare for winter.
The county indicated there are additional coats in a back room and arranged for supervisors and donors to pose for photographs and to begin distribution; school officials were identified as partners in getting coats to children in need.
Why it matters: The coat drive has operated for three decades and serves local students and families who face heating and clothing needs during winter. Board members praised the public‑private partnerships that made the distribution possible.
