Auditor seeks updates to liquor and event permits; tax-foreclosure hearing set

County Auditor Beth presented routine docket items at the Williams County meeting on Nov. 18, asking the board to update beer and liquor permit language and to schedule a public hearing about tax-foreclosure minimum prices.
Beth said she had worked with staff to update an ordinance governing beer and liquor licenses and event permits to bring county language in line with applicable code and asked the board for approval. A commissioner moved to approve the update and the board adopted the ordinance revision by roll call.
Beth also said the board must set a public meeting for property owners to raise concerns about the minimum price set for tax-foreclosure properties in the city of Tioga. She proposed the board meet Dec. 2 at 8:15 a.m. for that purpose; the board approved scheduling that hearing.
In addition, Beth announced a tax sale to be held at 10:00 a.m. on the third floor training room where three parcels will be offered for sale: one in Wilson, one in Tioga and one in Appam. Two additional parcels had been repurchased and removed from the sale list.
The board took no further action on penalties, fees or price calculations at the meeting; Beth said the hearing will allow affected parties to raise objections or questions about minimum price settings.
