Santa Cruz County honors two long-serving department heads

The board also honored Luis Fimbres, chief probation officer, for 26 years of service. Court Administrator Paulina Lopez and others described Fimbres as a mentor who maintained departmental professionalism and supported staff. Fimbres thanked colleagues and family and acknowledged mentors who shaped the probation department.
The recognitions were followed by brief remarks from supervisors and department staff; no formal action was required beyond the presentation and recognition.
