The meeting record shows the council then considered 10 additional appropriations together; discussion focused on recurring shortfalls in meal accounts, increased delivery charges since the COVID‑19 pandemic and overtime costs in the county jail, which a staff member noted included about $20,000 in overtime.
Separately, the council addressed training‑related funding. Cindy Doolittle asked for authorization to have a retiring employee return for five to 10 days to train a newly hired staffer and indicated she would bring an additional appropriation in January if needed. Another training request presented in June was reduced: Nathan Milver said an earlier $5,100 request had been lowered to a $3,200 credit through transfers and other adjustments. The council also approved a $50,003.99 transfer into the historic preservation fund to complete the county match for work at the local museum, and it approved a job description change for a Superior Court criminal debt position with no dollar changes.
