Grant County accepts $56,986 mental health court grant for 2026

Grant County accepted a Problem Solving Court (mental health court) grant for 2026 totaling $56,986. Melissa Stevens told commissioners the award mirrors prior-year funding except for a new state-imposed cap on the training line that reduced the training allocation by $2,500.
Stevens said the grant pays for part of the coordinator’s salary and benefits, a stipend for an office manager for grant coordination, participant incentives, drug testing supplies, program evaluation and staff training. The county applies for this grant annually; Stevens said this will probably be the county’s third year receiving the award after completing required certification processes.
Commissioners approved accepting the grant award and instructed staff to process grant paperwork and implement program spending under the grant terms.
