EMA: Grant County receives $12,499 HMEP grant; winter advisory remains in effect

Grant County Emergency Management reported Dec. 15 that the county remained under a travel/winter advisory and reminded residents that regional resource services such as 2-1-1 and in211.org are available for warming centers and shelter information.
EMA informed commissioners that the county had been awarded a Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant through the Local Emergency Planning Committee for $12,499. The presenter said the county had not yet received the contract; once it arrives the auditor and EMA will prepare the paperwork to accept and process the funds.
No motion beyond administrative processing was required at the meeting; the EMA representative said staff would return to commissioners if any substantive contract terms or charges required board action.
