Board introduces three ordinances; approves multi-year salary increases with one dissent

At the July meeting the Hudson County Board of County Commissioners introduced three ordinances and adopted a separate ordinance authorizing salary increases for designated county offices and staff.
Ordinances introduced by roll call include: an amendment to the Hudson County Administrative Code under the county charter and NJSA 40:41-1; an amendment to regulate parking on John F. Kennedy Boulevard (a county-owned roadway) in Jersey City; and an amendment to establish traffic calming devices on Newark Street and on Monroe and Grove streets in Hoboken. Each ordinance was introduced and the clerk recorded affirmative roll-call responses.
The board also held a public hearing on and then adopted an ordinance establishing and authorizing salary increases for certain county positions, including commissioners’ staff. On final adoption the roll call recorded one 'no' vote from Commissioner O'Day, who said he opposed pre-approving multi-year increases and preferred annual votes after budget adoption.
Clerk records show the introductions and adoption were placed on the public record and posted in accordance with statutory notice procedures.
