Chief Arnold and the Bethel Park Police Department on Dec. 8 recognized K‑9 Gs for nearly nine years of service and presented a citation dated 12/08/2025. Chief Arnold praised Gs’ contributions to searches, apprehensions and community outreach; the citation commends the K‑9 and his handler for ‘‘exemplary dedication, courage, and unwavering service to Bethel Park.’'
Officer Drew Jacobs thanked the council, command staff and community partners. Jacobs described Gs’ deployments (narcotics detection, searches and patrols), recounted field incidents including recovery after a vehicle strike and a violent attack, and thanked donors and the Community Foundation for helping raise funds for the K‑9 program and a scholarship. "He trusted me, and I trusted him," Jacobs said, speaking about the partnership.
Separately, the council presented plaques and farewell remarks to departing members Councilwoman Lindsay Flynn and Councilman Espinor. Flynn thanked residents and staff for the chance to serve Ward 9 and noted that the council will have a woman majority next month for the first time in Bethel Park history. Espinor, reflecting on his service and military background, thanked his family and the community for the opportunity to represent Bethel Park.
