Council members proposed tabling the item so staff could obtain the complete contract and clarify whether the term was intended to be one or two years. The motion to table carried after discussion; one councilor said they were "fine" to table while others requested the full contract before a final vote.
Council and staff noted Hoffman's has historically responded reliably to after‑hours calls and has been considered a dependable local vendor, but members said the absence of the full contract and the unexpected multi‑year term warranted delay.
