The board called forward candidates in groups and heard from community members with a wide range of backgrounds, including educators, parents, social workers, and retired administrators.
Candidates who spoke included Soraya Hintz, Carlos Corneal, James Bowen, Dr. Jill Costin, Jessica Collard, Monique/Monica Acosta, Jessica Scott, Dr. Timothy Williams, Ramon Rivera and many others. Applicants summarized experience relevant to board service—examples included bilingual translation and IEP work, grant writing and community outreach, decades of classroom and district leadership, and involvement with PTOs and community organizations.
The board thanked applicants and closed the interview portion of the evening, reminding candidates not to privately contact board members before the vote and directing questions to the board secretary. The board scheduled a special meeting on Dec. 4, 2025, at 6 p.m. to appoint the new member; public comment will be permitted at that meeting.
