Following the oaths, the board moved to organize for the coming year.
A motion to appoint a temporary president for the purpose of organization was made and carried, after which members nominated and elected a president (Patrick Fisher, transcript spelling varies) and Shannon Zimmerman as vice president. Zimmerman accepted the vice presidency and pledged to prioritize transparency, partnership with the superintendent and board development.
The board also passed routine governance motions, including a confirmation that meetings will be conducted according to board policy 000-2011 and approval of the board meeting schedule (monthly at 6 p.m.). The district announced a special meeting to appoint a new board member on Dec. 4, 2025; that appointment will fill a vacancy created on Nov. 14, 2025.
