Jimmy Morris, brain injury services coordinator with West Tennessee Healthcare, asked residents to spread the word about the Jackson Area Brain Injury Support Group, which he said has existed more than 20 years and is now rebuilding attendance after the pandemic.
Morris said the group meets every third Tuesday from 5–6 p.m. at 1804 US 45 Bypass and is open to survivors of brain injury and their caregivers. He described the group’s role as coordination of services rather than a residential facility, and said he covers roughly 20 counties across West Tennessee in linking individuals to services.
Morris asked prospective first-time attendees to notify him ahead of arrival because the building’s doors lock at 4 p.m.; he provided a phone number, (731) 541-4941, and an email, jimmy.morris@wth.org, for contact and said the group sometimes includes education sessions, service providers, or open discussion depending on the month.
"We meet every third Tuesday of the month from 5 until 6," Morris said, emphasizing the peer-support element and the group’s reliance on local participation to remain active.
