She described sheltering coordination with local Department of Social Services and the need to pre‑identify hotels, volunteers and operating details, and requested that the county publish volunteer information and link to redcross.org/volunteer for prospective volunteers. She also said the chapter can support local response with feeding, supplies and mental‑health staff if called by local emergency management.
Supervisors agreed to add volunteer recruitment information to the county website and to coordinate with the chapter on local training and shelter plans. No county appropriation was requested at the meeting.
