Committee members discussed offsetting those fringe costs by raising the county daily per-diem rate (presently $160) to $200, which the presenters said would still place Adams County on the low end of regional rates and could increase bed-day revenue. Committee materials projected the staffing and rate change could generate an additional roughly $400,000 in revenue for fiscal year 2026, leaving a net offset of about $300,000 after fringe costs.
The finance committee advised staff to include these positions and budget adjustments in the 2025 budget request; approval will require placement in the board's formal budget process.
