The Clearfield County Salary Board and Board of Commissioners on Jan. 5, 2026 approved pay and personnel actions for the county jail. The Salary Board voted to set the new deputy warden of operations' salary at $60,000 per year, and the commissioners approved the hire effective Jan. 5, 2026.
Speaker 1 introduced the salary recommendation, saying the county had “struggled to fill this position, and I am glad to see that be filled. That will fill out our management compliment at the jail.” The motion to set the salary was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote during the Salary Board portion of the reorganizational meeting.
Later in the commissioners' portion of the meeting, Speaker 1 presented the personnel list and the motion to accept the personnel changes, including the deputy warden hire effective Jan. 5, 2026; the board approved the personnel changes by voice vote.
The Salary Board also reorganized its schedule during the morning meeting: it will meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. concurrent with the commissioners' meetings. The board approved meeting dates for 2026 and approved minutes from the Dec. 9, 2025 Salary Board meeting by voice vote.
