Pike County commissioners met Jan. 5, 2026, to complete their annual reorganization and handle routine county business, approving reappointments for the year and directing personnel and pay matters.
The board approved the reorganization agenda and reappointments listed as items 1–18 and 19–36 for the 2026 calendar year after motions were made and seconded. The meeting recessed to convene the salary board, which approved the 2026 Pike County employee salaries as presented.
On the salary board’s recommendations, commissioners set the hourly rate for Pike County departmental solicitors at $125 per hour unless a separate agreement specifies otherwise. They also set individual hourly wages: Jeffrey Yablonski was set at $27 per hour for a 40-hour maintenance position effective Jan. 26, 2026, with benefits after 90 days; Kathleen Cronin was set at $40 per hour as a temporary part-time accounts clerk for the correctional facility from Jan. 1 to July 1, 2026.
The board cited terms of the agreement between Pike County and AFSCME District Council 87 to increase certain correctional officers’ hourly rate to $29.26 after one year of service; names mentioned in the transcript included Tyler Cord and Richard Passarge. The motions to adopt these pay and personnel actions were seconded and approved by voice votes.
The salary board was adjourned and the commissioners reconvened. Commissioners also authorized the chairman to execute an arrangement between AccuTrace HR and the Pike County Area Agency on Aging on the agency’s behalf.
The meeting closed with a note that the next public meeting is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2026.
