The Enid City Commission approved an amendment to the municipal code that replaces multiple mobile food vendor license types with a single annual license and reduces the city fee from $75 to $35.
Melissa, a city staffer, told the commission the change aligns the local code with recent state legislation governing mobile food vendors and will streamline administration for the clerk’s office and code enforcement. Under the ordinance, applicants must provide proof of their state license, evidence of state fire marshal inspections, tax registration, and a list of anticipated operating locations so staff can handle complaints and inspections more efficiently.
Melissa said staff will revise the city’s license form and notify current vendors of the change; the commission voted to adopt the ordinance as presented without an emergency clause.
The motion to adopt passed unanimously (7‑0). The new licensing structure becomes effective after administrative changes to forms and notification are completed.
