The district expects a credit from a contractor (Brooker) for window work at Steckel Elementary and is on track to complete middle-school windows and switchgear next summer. Staff reported persistent leaks in the high-school walk-in refrigerator/freezer and said they will present options to remove, repair or replace the units; the units and their roof-mounted components are more than 30 years old and have reached the end of expected life.
The district's consultant and operations staff recommended using the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing program and vendor Hafner Equipment to procure replacement fuel dispensers (diesel and gasoline) for the transportation facility. Staff said the dispensers themselves have water and contaminants and are failing; storage tanks were inspected and reported to be sealed and in good condition. Staff said procurement lead time is roughly 2.5 months for equipment plus an installation period that could vary depending on underground piping conditions, and proposed scheduling replacement during the summer shutdown.
