Radnor honored by PSBA; high‑school students named National Merit semifinalists

The Radnor Township School Board received a presentation from Pennsylvania School Boards Association Chief Membership Officer Megan Orrick on Sept. 30 honoring the district with the PSBA Great Pennsylvania Schools ribbon for academic rigor, community resilience and financial health.
"This honor recognizes schools that demonstrate a commitment to academic rigor, community resilience and financial health," Orrick said while presenting a banner and promotional materials for the district to use. Board members agreed to take photos with students and promoted sharing the recognition on social media.
The board also celebrated its high‑school students named 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalists. Dr. Babson called the list "very impressive," noted that semifinalists represent less than 1% of U.S. high‑school seniors, and described the next steps semifinalists must complete to become finalists, including an application, essay, endorsements and confirmation of SAT scores. Several student names were read aloud and will receive certificates after the meeting.
What happens next: The district and families will proceed with semifinalist finalist applications and the district will display the PSBA recognition banner and promotional items.
