Franklin County commissioners conducted several votes Dec. 31 after returning from closed and executive sessions.
The board approved Resolution 2025-394, adopting the collective bargaining agreement for the prosecutors' office guild. The motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board also authorized the county prosecuting attorney’s office to accept service of a lawsuit that Benton County filed against Franklin County; that authorization was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no further discussion recorded.
Administrative and operational instructions approved by the board included directing the county administrator to bring Knox boxes on the county campus into compliance with the City of Pasco code and to work with Superior Court to pursue amendments to Administrative Rule 5 so Franklin County can use Martin Hall as a juvenile justice center. Both instructions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
All votes were recorded as voice votes with the board answering "aye"; the transcript does not provide a roll-call of individual commissioner votes by name. Where applicable, commissioners asked staff to prepare implementation steps and drafts for formal board consideration.
Next steps: county staff and legal counsel will prepare any necessary resolution language and coordinate with the superior court and facilities staff to implement the directives.
