Conewago Valley board elects officers and approves routine business at Dec. 1 meeting

The Conewago Valley School District Board held its reorganization and regular meeting Dec. 1, electing board officers, accepting certificates of election, and approving recommended agenda items and personnel actions by roll call.

During the reorganization portion, the board nominated and confirmed a temporary president by voice vote (Lindsay Kerr was nominated). Certificates of election were read for Michael Campbell (Region 3), Eric Flickinger (Region 2), Jeffrey Kinchu (Region 2) and Melanie Salter (Region 1) and new directors took the oath of office. Jeff Kinchu was nominated for board president and elected by roll call; Eric Flickinger won the vice president position in a roll-call tally that was announced as "Motion passes 5 4." The vice president vote was contested (two candidates) and the chairman read the roll call when votes were taken.

Later in the regular meeting the board approved recommendations for items 1–5 under board action after a roll-call vote, accepted the treasurer's report showing total account activity of $91,482,752.15 as of Nov. 24, 2025, and approved personnel items 1–10 by roll call. Property, supplies and facilities requests were also approved by roll call.

The meeting included procedural housekeeping — setting committee assignments and meeting calendar items — and closed after public comment and an adjournment at 8:43 p.m.

Next steps: newly elected officers will serve in their roles through the terms specified by board policy and routine agenda items will return for typical oversight and reporting at upcoming meetings.
