The St. Mary Parish School Board discipline committee on Jan. 5 introduced and welcomed Brandy Williams Moore as a newly appointed member of the discipline committee. A committee member said Moore was elected by parents to serve as a leader for the committee.

Moore identified herself as a parent at Byrd High School and thanked the committee for agreeing to include her. "I'm honored to be a part of the community," she said during her brief remarks.

The introduction preceded the committee's primary business that day: a review and recommendation to the full board of a revised school bus discipline matrix.
