BLYTHEWOOD — The council voted Dec. 15 to release local developer Stanley Martin from a letter of credit covering required work at Ashley Oaks Subdivision Phase 8.

Town Manager Driggers told the council that inspections had been completed by Richland County, the work required under the letter of credit had been performed and the town’s recommendation was to approve the release. Councilman McKendrick moved to release Stanley Martin from the letter of credit for Phase 8 in Ashley Oaks Subdivision; the motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote.

A Stanley Martin representative attended the meeting and was recognized by council members. No member of the council spoke in opposition, and no amendments or conditions were attached to the approval. Staff indicated the relevant release documentation would be provided to the developer after the meeting.

Next steps: the town will finalize paperwork to effect the release and retain inspection records as part of the public record.
