Roger Madison, a resident of 421 Walnut Street, spoke during public comment on Jan. 6 to thank the council for new city signage and to raise a long-standing road issue.

Madison said the new signs "look great" and called attention to a recurring problem at the corner of Monroe and Walnut where holes are reappearing because public works crews have placed blacktop over an existing pavement problem rather than removing and repairing the base. He asked that public works inspect the site and seek a lasting repair rather than short-lived overlays.

The mayor responded that staff would check on the location. No formal action was recorded at the meeting; staff were asked to follow up.
