Buckley, who introduced the Mitchell Road/Mitchell Pass petition, said the petition affects 330 Mitchell Road and 5378 Mitchell Pass and described the change as splitting the alley between adjacent owners so “half of this will go to this property and half will go to this property.” The commission moved and approved the vacation with no objections. Commissioners and staff clarified that the property owner must execute a deed and record it at the recorder’s office to complete the process.
A second vacation affecting property owned by Logan Comfort was approved after staff explained that Comfort owns all three adjoining parcels, which simplifies the distribution of the vacated right‑of‑way. The commission noted a nine‑day public notice timeline and directed staff to place signage as required. One commissioner asked about maintenance responsibilities; staff said these segments historically have not been part of the county’s maintained mileage.
Both motions were voiced and approved by the commission. Commissioners instructed county staff to notify property owners about deed recording and to proceed with the administrative steps to finalize the vacations.
The actions will change the legal description and access for the affected parcels; owners must complete recording steps to effect the transfers. No appeals, objections, or formal legal challenges were recorded during the meeting.
