Three newly elected members of the Secaucus School District Board of Education were sworn in at the district’s reorganization meeting, and the board selected its president and vice president by roll-call votes.
The meeting opened with the administration of oaths by board attorney Vic Lapura. The newly sworn members, as recorded in the meeting, were Christina DeBary (2,173 votes in the Nov. 4, 2025 election), Kelly Diadetta (2,168) and Alexander de Hombre (2,133). Each repeated the standard oath affirming they possess the qualifications for office and are not disqualified under state law.
During officer elections, nominations were received and seconded. The board then conducted a roll-call vote to elect its president; the motion carried with all recorded members voting "Yes." A subsequent roll-call vote elected the vice president, also with unanimous recorded support. After each vote members offered brief congratulations to the newly chosen officers.
The meeting followed the public-notice procedures described under the Open Public Meetings Act and included the board attorney presiding over the oath process. The board next moved to routine business, including consideration of district calendar and operational items, before adjourning.
The board did not identify an immediate next step on policy changes; several scheduling adjustments were made to allow time for reorganization and committee assignment work.
