The Board of Commissioners on Jan. 5 approved a series of budget amendments to allocate insurance reimbursements to replace stolen or damaged county equipment and to cover adjustments for an EMS vehicle replacement.
Finance Officer Caleb Hogan told the board the Department of Emergency Management received an insurance reimbursement to replace a stolen drone and requested a budget amendment to debit capital outlay and credit insurance reimbursements for $23,919. The board approved the amendment by voice vote.
Hogan also requested and won approval for a second amendment to allocate prior-year insurance reimbursement funds for a damaged computer and printer ($6,443 total, consisting of $4,943 capital outlay and $1,500 supplies) and further line-item adjustments related to EMS vehicle replacement that totaled several line changes to cover the difference between insurance proceeds and replacement cost; the transcript lists amounts and account adjustments but did not state a single combined total for the EMS item.
Next steps: county finance staff will post the budget amendments and proceed with procurement or replacement as specified in departmental requests.
