Peoria County’s committee approved seven resolutions and several contract actions at its meeting. Jeff (staff) reported that the Glassford Road resurfacing final construction cost was $667,217, leaving a shortfall of $9,217.15 relative to the original appropriation; the board approved a resolution to appropriate those additional funds to pay the contractor. The committee also recommended awarding the combined Kickapoo Edwards/Civil Defense Road work to the low alternate bidder, William Charles Construction of Rockford, Ill., for $1,344,063.60; the contract award carried after discussion of developer matching and payback options.

The board approved a bid from Knapp Concrete Contractors (Goodfield) for a retaining wall on Cedar Hill Drive for $716,673.15. For Sheridan Road (between Glen and Northmore), staff said a $10,000,000 grant was received and recommended hiring Hanson Professional Services for phase‑2 engineering at a fee of $1,000,000; the committee approved the hire.

The board also approved a $249,000 budget amendment to cover higher power and building‑move costs for county facilities, and it approved change order #1 for the Courthouse Plaza project in the amount of $195,049. Staff said the plaza work uncovered unexpected soil conditions related to the former courthouse foundation and described the change as primarily sheet‑pile and piling costs (staff listed roughly $120,000 in materials, $36,000 in piling labor and about $3,500 in testing within the total change order).
