Officials urge public to attend meeting on roughly 4,000‑acre solar project near Cismet Park

Committee speakers announced a CBA meeting scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. to discuss a proposed solar project in the Cismet Park area described in the meeting as "close to a 4,000 acre" development, and encouraged residents interested in commenting or observing to attend. "It's one of the biggest things that we've looked at so far," one member said.

Separately, a multi‑county phone call including Livingston, Iroquois and Ford counties and the State of Illinois is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m.; the event is open to the public and committee members agreed to circulate a Zoom link. Officials noted the meeting room's capacity at the county offices is 75 and encouraged members to attend if they want to observe or provide input. No formal actions or votes on the project were taken during the Jan. 5 committee meeting.
