Albert Lea Area Schools leaders presented a draft operational blueprint branded "Tigers in Action" during the regular meeting following the levy discussion, outlining mission, vision, priority areas and district commitments intended to guide daily practice and long-term strategy.
The presentation described six priority areas—teaching, innovation, grit, empowerment, readiness and systems—and tied those to district commitments such as guaranteed viable curriculum, professional learning communities (PLCs), literacy priorities and career/college readiness. The presenter said the plan is a draft for shared leadership and community input: "By actively bringing our Tigers framework to life we ensure every student and staff member is empowered, challenged and supported," the presenter said.
Board members and staff noted ongoing task-force efforts on literacy and math curriculum updates and emphasized that the plan will be refined with input from staff, students and families. The presenter asked board members to provide feedback on wording and presentation so the blueprint can be used as an operational tool that holds leaders accountable.
The district said related work includes staff training, a math task force, and continued community and student engagement; board members agreed to review the draft and return comments in subsequent meetings.
