Kiski Area SD board adopts 2025–26 budget, approves personnel and construction items

The Kiski Area School District Board of School Directors adopted the district’s 2025–26 final budget and approved a set of routine and business items at its June 18, 2025, meeting.
The board moved item 11.1 to a roll‑call vote for adoption of the 2025–26 budget; individual board members were polled by name during the roll call and the presiding officer announced that the budget adoption passed. Earlier in the meeting the solicitor had said the district was still waiting for some budget details but the board proceeded with the required vote.
The board also approved consent items 6.1–6.4, the minutes from the May 19, 2025 legislative meeting, and personnel items listed as 10.1–10.19. Student‑activity items 14.1 and 14.3 were approved; item 14.2 was approved as well after a board member said they needed to abstain because a relative was involved.
Construction agenda items 16.1–16.6 were considered in sequence. The board requested roll calls for 16.1 and 16.6. Item 16.1 passed on roll call with one recorded "No" vote from Doctor Holt. Item 16.6 likewise passed on roll call; the roll call sequence recorded one "No" vote by a board member identified in the minutes as Doctor Halton/Halter during the roll call.
No citizens were signed up for public comment. Before adjourning, directors offered congratulations to retiring music teacher Rochelle Insco and to several newly hired staff; members also noted the district’s recent cybersecurity presentation and wished students safe travel.
The meeting was adjourned following the closing remarks.
