Board delays action on facility-naming changes and discusses Narcan policy, AED purchases

The committee additionally discussed proposed language under the authority section that would require adherence to state and local health-safety orders and board-approved plans; one board member said they personally "do not like that sentiment" of embedding face-covering requirements into policy language and preferred leaving such decisions to local plans if a new public-health situation arises.
The board also discussed a proposed policy to provide Narcan in public settings because of local overdose concerns and confirmed that the district recently purchased 25 automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The board agreed to pull item 705 (workplace/facilities safety language) back to committee for revision and to remove 701.1 (facility naming) from the consent agenda pending further discussion.
The board did not take final votes on these policies at the meeting and requested revised language and administrative regulations before returning the items for consideration.
