The Dawsonville City Council voted to approve a memorandum of understanding with the Georgia Department of Agriculture to bring a 'Georgia Grown' resource center to Dawsonville to support agribusiness.

Amanda Emmonson, director of downtown development, described the MOU as a means to support local farmers and invest in regional agriculture. Councilmember (unnamed in transcript) moved to approve and another councilmember seconded; the council then voted to move the item forward.

Councilmembers thanked staff for their work on the MOU during discussion, noting the center should benefit local farmers and the region. Staff will proceed with implementing the MOU as directed by council.
