District facilities staff reviewed ongoing capital projects and recent completions. The Deer Path Road building project is proceeding "top down," with the fourth floor framed and drywall hung on one side while infrastructure (ductwork, plumbing) is installed. Staff displayed photos showing framed walls and insulation and explained the choice to size wall framing to allow extra insulation for sound attenuation.
The high-school landscaping project is complete, and the high-school kitchen improvements are reported to be about 99.9% complete, with punch-list items remaining; the new kitchen features expanded serving lines and a salad bar-style kiosk. Facilities also reported using a local technical school’s collision-repair shop to repair a maintenance van at the cost of materials only; a student performed the repair and gained practical experience.
Board members asked about modular wall options, hanging points for artwork in the new boardroom, whether walls are configured to allow future reconfiguration, and how site-work (playfield and playground) is progressing. Facilities staff said they will add several items to an internal punch-list and will follow up with a Friday meeting to resolve finish details.
What’s next: Facilities will return with additional details as punch-list items are completed and will provide answers to placement and finish questions asked by board members.
