At its Jan. 5 meeting, the Klamath Falls City Council nominated and then formally elected "Tara" to serve as council president for 2026.

An unnamed council member moved to nominate Tara and the nomination received a second. After a brief clarification from the mayor that a nomination does not itself constitute an election, councilors moved to formally elect the nominee and voted "Aye." Mayor Carol Westfall announced "Tara" as council president.

City Recorder Nicole Barrington was referenced on the dais for procedural clarification about the election process; no further procedural challenge or roll-call breakdown was recorded on the final election vote.
