At its first meeting of 2026, the Morgan County Drainage Board retained its current president and elected Don Adams as vice president, approved last month’s minutes and adopted a 2026 schedule of meetings and submissions.
An unnamed board member presiding over the meeting moved to "maintain what we got" for president; another member seconded the motion and the board passed it by voice vote. "I'll move we just maintain what we got," the presiding member said when placing the motion on the floor.
Don Adams was nominated for vice president, a nomination the presiding member moved and Brian Collier seconded. During the voice vote one member said "Aye" and another recorded an "Abstain;" the presiding member declared Adams elected. "By a slim margin, Mr. Adams has made it once again," the presiding member said after the vote.
The board also approved the December meeting minutes after a motion and second and accepted the posted 2026 meeting and submission schedules by voice vote.
The actions formalized at the meeting are procedural: reorganization into leadership roles and approval of administrative records and schedules. No ordinance, statute or new policy was adopted. The meeting concluded after standard business and a motion to adjourn was approved by voice vote.
