Oak Park Council awards $296,797 sewer lining contract to DVM Utilities

Oak Park City Council voted to award the 2025 sewer lining contract (Project M791) to DVM Utilities of Sterling Heights.
Economic development director Kim Maroney told the council that 51 contractors viewed the advertised project and four bids were received. "The low bidder was DVM utilities, who we have used in the past, and we are recommending to city council to award the bid to DVM Utilities of Sterling Heights," Maroney said. She told council that the city has "19 miles lined already and the percentage is 16.91% is done."
Council moved the recommendation and conducted a roll-call vote. Mayor McClellan, Council Member Radnor and Council Member Whitehead recorded yes votes and the motion carried.
The award approves a total contract amount of $296,797 to DVM Utilities for sewer lining work. City staff said the work is part of an ongoing multi-year rehabilitation program that proceeds by section and is costly and time-consuming.
Council members asked for follow-up data on the program’s progress over time; Maroney agreed to provide the percentage completed over the past 10 years at a future meeting.
The city will proceed with contracting under the terms presented to council and begin project scheduling and coordination with the contractor.
