The Nantucket Commission on Disabilities voted Jan. 2 to appoint a representative to a newly formed Transportation and Public Access Advisory Committee (TAC), which merges bicycle and pedestrian access work with roads and rights‑of‑way oversight. Georgia nominated Mickey for the seat; the nomination was seconded and approved by roll call (ayes from Marybeth, Augie, Georgia, Rocky and Nikki Roland).
Members described the new TAC as absorbing some functions of a former traffic‑safety committee and said the appointed representative will report back to the commission about TAC discussions and opportunities for collaboration. Several commissioners volunteered to act as alternates or assist the appointee when needed.
The commission noted TAC meetings are public and will generally be available via Zoom for members of the public who wish to attend.
