Department staff provided routine operational updates at the meeting, including hiring, construction progress, demolition scheduling, and upcoming seasonal recruitments.
Sally reported the city hired a new employee who started the day of the meeting and that plant additions are under construction. Kristen said utilities are nearly disconnected at 678 Johnson Avenue, asbestos testing has returned clear results and demolition is likely within a couple of weeks; she also reported mechanical installations are progressing at 599 East Adams Street. “We are nearing completion of getting all of the utilities turned off at 678 Johnson Avenue. It’s time for that demolition to take place,” Kristen said.
Board members and staff noted the summer concert series has been booked and that the city is still recruiting seasonal staff, including landscapers and lifeguards. The presiding official thanked employees for their work and the board adjourned.
