Franklin City Council elects Kenny Austin as president, keeps Sean Taylor as vice; approves consent agenda and reappointments

At its Jan. 5 meeting Franklin City Council elected Kenny Austin council president and retained Sean Taylor as vice president by voice vote, approved the consent agenda and minutes, and reappointed Anne McGinnis and Josh Prine to the redevelopment commission and Irene Nally to the planning commission.
Franklin City Council reorganized its leadership and approved several routine items at its Jan. 5 meeting.
During the opening announcements the council nominated and elected Kenny Austin as council president. A nomination and second were recorded and the council approved the motion by voice vote with no member opposing. The council also moved to retain Sean Taylor as council vice president; that motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The council approved the consent agenda, including minutes from the December meeting, after a motion to adopt the minutes was made and seconded. Under other business the council voted to reappoint Anne McGinnis and Josh Prine to one‑year terms on the redevelopment commission and reappointed Irene Nally as the council’s representative to the planning commission; each appointment was moved, seconded, and approved by voice vote.
No roll-call rollouts of individual vote names were recorded for the voice votes on Jan. 5. At the initial roll call earlier in the meeting the clerk recorded that Mister Austin, Mister Shep, Miss McGinnis, Miss Nally, Mister Prine, and Mister Taylor were present; Miss Price did not verbally respond during roll call. The mayor declared a quorum at the start of the meeting.
