Matt, the applicant for 111B Old South Road, said the updated plan separates two larger gable signs onto flanking masses and adds small door-identification signs. "We're happy to do that," he said, agreeing to the committee’s requested size limit for the door signs. Paul Wolf moved to approve the plan as presented with signs numbered 2 and 4 limited to a square foot each (specified as 12 by 12 inches), Ben Norman seconded, and the motion passed with unanimous support.
Separately, Great Harbor sought to remove an awning at 56 Union and replace it with a carved sign. Paul Wolf asked whether the application listed the proposed material as PVC; the committee required a wood sign instead. The committee approved the sign on the building with the condition that it be made of wood.
Both approvals were formalized by motion and unanimous vote. The committee noted that some elements (for example, freestanding signs at other nearby properties) may require further review or enforcement checks by staff.
Next steps: applicants will submit individual sign permits or revisions as needed; staff will confirm compliance with materials and file any outstanding enforcement items.
