Clayton City Council swears in mayor, confirms multiple 2026 appointments and tables two vacancies

The council approved multiple 2026 appointments, including representatives to the First Suburbs Consortium, the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and Transportation Committee, the Cost Recovery Impact Fee Appeals Board and two appointees to the Volunteer Firefighters Dependent Fund Board. The council also appointed Jennifer Dawn to the Parks Advisory Commission but tabled two other commission appointments because of insufficient applicants. Council recessed for an executive session earlier in the meeting to discuss personnel.
“The motion passes,” Mayor Ryan Farmer said after a series of voice votes and roll-call tallies. Council moved, seconded and voted on each resolution in sequence; where the body tabled items, those will return to a future agenda. Approval of the prior meeting minutes was carried with two abstentions recorded during the roll call.
