The Fuquay Varina Board of Commissioners adopted an annexation ordinance to extend the town’s corporate limits to include property at 9713 Eden Trail (ANX 202521).
Planning Director Davis told the board the petition was certified as sufficient under the North Carolina General Statutes and said the 0.826-acre parcel is noncontiguous to town limits. Town water is available to serve the lot; sewer and town sanitation/recycling services are currently unavailable and are exempted per the annexation agreement. A nearby fire-flow test showed adequate fire flow. At the Dec. 16 meeting the clerk certified petition sufficiency and the board set tonight as the public hearing. Planning staff reported the present total value of the property to be $184,106.
Wayne Malden of Malden Watkins Survey (139 N. Main St.) said he prepared the petition for the property owners and explained that the family had experienced issues with on-site wells and wished to connect to town water.
The board adopted the annexation ordinance and the declaration of annexation by voice vote.
