Summary
At its Jan. 5 organizational meeting the Richfield Public School District board administered oaths to newly elected members, re-elected Eric Carter as chair, confirmed Kirk Spencer as vice chair and elected Ken List as clerk and Paula Cole as treasurer by voice votes. The board also approved its agenda and consent items.
The Richfield Public School District board convened its organizational meeting at 7 p.m. Monday and administered the public oath of office to new members Call Me Dennis and Haley Tompkins before conducting officer elections.
Eric Carter accepted a nomination for chair and was elected by voice vote to serve another year. ‘‘I am willing to serve as the chair for another year,’’ Carter said after accepting the nomination. Kirk Spencer was nominated and confirmed as vice chair by a subsequent voice vote. Ken List was nominated and elected clerk, and Paula Cole was elected treasurer; each position was approved by unanimous voice vote without additional recorded opposition.
The board then approved the meeting agenda and the consent agenda by voice motions and votes. The chair announced procedural items for the year and noted that public comment for the board’s next regular meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m.
The elections and approvals were handled as routine organizational business early in the meeting and concluded before the superintendent’s report and presentations began. The board’s composition and officer assignments will be reflected in upcoming meeting packets and on district communications.
