DuPage County Public Works approves budget transfers, facility contracts and grant extension

DuPage County Public Works approved a series of budget transfers, contract awards and a grant extension during its Jan. 6 meeting.
The committee approved multi-line budget transfers that include $155,000 for regular salaries, $20,000 for benefit payments related to compensated absences, $25,000 for IMRF, $4,000 for Social Security, $4,000 for overtime and $42,000 for benefit payments. An unidentified member summarized the total of those adjustments as “355,000.” The motion was moved, seconded and carried without recorded opposition.
Members also approved a $5,779 facilities-management transfer from the repair-and-maintenance auto equipment account to support the grounds division for FY2025.
Several contracts were approved. The committee awarded a contract to Westside Tractor Sales to supply a 2026 Felling 24-2T tilling trailer (4-foot stationary deck) for the period Jan. 13–Nov. 30, 2026; total contracts were noted as expected to exceed $32,000. The committee renewed a contract with Knox Swan and Dog LLC for geese control at the DuPage County campus, authorizing a not-to-exceed amount of $15,000 for the period March 1, 2026–Feb. 29, 2028.
The committee approved a sole-source purchase from Northwest Applied Solutions for ionization tube supplies used in HVAC clean-air systems, not to exceed $45,710, and a contract with Securmar LLC to deliver and install a Smiths Detection SDX-6040 X-ray inspection system for the circuit court at the judicial facility for up to $150,248 for the Jan. 14, 2026–Jan. 13, 2027 term.
The board also accepted an extension through Nov. 30, 2026 for an energy-efficiency block grant governmental agreement.
