Board lists January volunteer events; AdvoCap donates blower-door tester to Oshkosh Tool Library

Events listed included making bag lunches for the Hope Fridge on Jan. 8 from 1–4 p.m. at the Winnebago Democratic Party office; an Oshkosh Repair Café on Jan. 10 at the downtown YMCA (10 a.m.–2 p.m.; outdoor bicycle and small-engine repair stations will not run during winter); and a tool-training and donation event Jan. 10 at the Oshkosh Tool Library, where AdvoCap is donating a blower-door testing unit and an infrared thermal camera for public use and will train library staff and the public on use. Members noted the tools will be available to borrow for Winnebago County residents after the training.
Other items announced: the Oshkosh Healthy Neighborhood Alliance meeting featuring Urban Ecology Oshkosh on Jan. 12 at the Oshkosh Public Library; the Wild Ones “Towards Harmony with Nature” conference on Jan. 24 at the UW Oshkosh Culver Family Welcome Center (registration may be required); a free legal assistance clinic Jan. 20 at the Oshkosh Public Library; and Empty Bowls Oshkosh on Jan. 31, a fundraising soup event with proceeds to local food pantries.
The announcements were presented for informational and volunteer-signup purposes; no formal board actions were taken on the events during the meeting.
