Commissioners approve Fair Board supplemental budget to spend carryover on small-animal barn

Administrative staff explained the funds are a carryover—not new county general-fund dollars—and the supplemental budget is required to give the Fair Board authority to spend the beginning fund balance in the capital project line for the small-animal barn.
There was no public testimony for or against the supplemental; after staff read the be-it-resolved language a commissioner moved to adopt Res. 2025-1015 and the motion carried by voice vote.
The board also approved Resolution 2025-1016 to recognize an additional beginning fund balance of $162,004.55 and to authorizethe Fair Board improvement revenue and expense adjustments in the capital projects line; that motion likewise passed by voice vote.
Both actions were framed as housekeeping steps to allow last year’s unspent project dollars to be used in the current fiscal year for the Fair Board’s small-animal building repairs and completion.
