CARMEL, Ind. — The Carmel Board of Public Works and Safety on Jan. 7 approved a series of routine procurements, technical waivers and personnel actions, including the purchase of an ambulance and related equipment, vehicle‑graphics and engineering services, and two add-on agenda items requested during the meeting.
The board voted to approve minutes from its Dec. 17, 2025 meeting, then moved through contract approvals. Fire Chief Joel Thacker told the board the department added a fifth front-line ambulance this year by returning a reserve unit to service and is replacing that reserve. “So we'll likely receive this ambulance the end of this year,” Thacker said, noting…
