The Fort Harrison Reuse Authority unanimously re-elected a slate of officers for 2026 during its meeting on Jan. 5, 2026, and approved minutes from its Nov. 17, 2025 meeting.
"We do have 3 members present. We do have quorum here," said an authority member as the meeting opened. Later in the meeting a slate was proposed: "I would like to propose a slate of Russell Brown as president, Trey Shates as vice president. I would like to continue as secretary treasurer," said the member who proposed the slate. The chair called for a vote and the motion carried unanimously.
The re-election was routine business among two items of new business on the agenda. The board also approved the Nov. 17, 2025 minutes by unanimous voice vote.
Members received an economic development operations update from staff. The presenter said activity had been "a little slower than normal" over the recent three-week period because of holidays, but that there remained interest from several developers. Staff said Heather and Greg will join Goodnight to present a recap of 2025 at the authority's February meeting.
Councilor Robinson addressed the authority during the meeting, offering a New Year greeting and noting "a lot of development coming through to the city" with "some big openings in '26." Mayor Whitfield was also present in the audience and was acknowledged by the chair.
The board scheduled its next meeting for Feb. 9, 2026 — one week earlier than the usual third Monday because of the Presidents Day holiday — and adjourned at 5:37 p.m.
No ordinances, contracts, or budget amendments were considered at this meeting.
